It's official: I'm a "Thinking Blogger," at least according to the always-thoughtful Catez Stevens of AllThings2All. I'm honored, and very flattered.
I have been known to think a time or two in my life, but I really try not to make a habit of it. I figure at my age I need to let my synapses get all the rest they can. But, as I say, it's an honor. My mother is already on the phone telling her friends.
Now, Catez is a thinking blogger. AllThings2All is always worth reading. And remarkably, even though she's a New Zealander, she somehow manages to write without a trace of a Kiwi accent!
In addition to yours truly, Catez honored 5 other bloggers with this award, including: Rebecca Stark of Rebecca Writes; Martin LaBar of Sun and Shield; the delightful Julana of Life in the Slow Lane; Eric Siegmund, editor of the The Fire Ant Gazette; and Jeana who blogs at Days to Come.
The Thinking Blogger award was the brainchild of The Thinking Blog. One of the duties of award recipients is to pay it forward by honoring 5 more thinking bloggers.
May I have the envelope please.
My first honoree is the Rt. Rev. Mark Daniels, managing editor of Better Living. Mark is a thinker's thinker. He is a writer par excellence, a historian, a political and cultural observer, and a former candidate for political office! Mark is one of my daily reads. Make him yours, too.
Next up is Intellectuelle, a group of 8 thinking women who write about faith and culture from a uniquely feminine perspective. Ashley, Atlantic, Bonnie, Ilona, Melinda, Patti, Sheena and Sherry always make me think.
Mike's Noise is an exceptional blog that combines Mike's love of politics, faith, and classic jazz. I love his reviews of old jazz standards. Jazz ought to be better known than it is. I've learned a lot reading Mike's Noise.
Jan must be one of the most original and enjoyable writers in the blogosphere. She writes at the view from her, a blog dedicated to the life of single women of "a certain age." Jan makes me laugh, she makes me wonder, she amazes me with her wisdom and insight. And you just never know what she's going to say.
Will Gray is the blogmaster for Explorations, which he insists is not so much a blog as a venue for expressing his love of film, music, pop culture and his Christian faith. Explorations is wonderfully entertaining without taking itself too seriously, and Will's knowledge (and love) of literature and art makes his blog a great place to spend a few minutes, or hours, exploring.
Congratulations to all these Thinking Bloggers. Let's give them all a rousing chorus of right mouse-clicks, shall we?
This is me, looking
for something. Seems like I'm always looking for something.
At AnotherThink, I talk about what I've found and what I'm
still looking for.

"Do thinking and blogging mix?"
We're in trouble if they don't.
You're a great thinker Charlie - you do it with wisdom and light.
Nice to see those awardees too. Good stuff there.
Wow, Charlie - thanks for the link, and the honor. I'm privileged to be included with the bloggers you listed here. Plus, there's a couple I have to go read!
Thanks for the suggested reading here. Best! df
